About Kate
Kate is a consultant physiotherapist with over 14 years’ experience in musculoskeletal private practice. She treats a broad range of conditions affecting joints, tendons, muscles, ligaments, and nerves, and has built a particular reputation for her work with patients who have not responded to more general treatment elsewhere.
Alongside her MSK caseload, Kate has specialist training in two areas rarely offered in private physiotherapy: TMD (temporomandibular disorder), commonly known as jaw physio, and Bell’s Palsy rehabilitation — including facial acupuncture as part of the recovery process. These are conditions that many patients struggle to find specialist help for, and Kate is one of very few physiotherapists in the Manchester area offering dedicated treatment for both.
Kate is also an experienced Pilates instructor with over 10 years of teaching behind her, delivering both private one-to-one sessions and group classes. She runs virtual Pilates classes alongside her clinical work, making Pilates-based rehabilitation accessible to patients who cannot attend the clinic in person.
Conditions Kate treats
- Neck pain — including cervicogenic headaches, whiplash-related stiffness, and postural neck pain from desk work
- Low back pain — from acute episodes to chronic or recurring pain, using a combination of manual therapy and progressive exercise
- Tendinopathies — Achilles, patellar, rotator cuff, and lateral elbow (tennis elbow). Evidence-based loading programmes tailored to each stage of the condition
- Runner’s knee — assessment of contributing factors including strength deficits, movement patterns, and training load
- Hypermobility — structured strengthening and stability programmes for patients with joint hypermobility or hypermobility spectrum disorder
- TMD (jaw physio) — specialist treatment for jaw pain, clicking, locking, and headaches related to temporomandibular dysfunction. One of very few physiotherapists in Manchester offering this service
- Bell’s Palsy — facial rehabilitation including facial acupuncture to support nerve recovery and restore movement
Treatments Kate offers
Kate delivers manual therapy, Western acupuncture and dry needling (including facial acupuncture for Bell’s Palsy), clinical Pilates, general exercise rehabilitation, and taping. Her treatment approach combines hands-on techniques with structured exercise programmes, ensuring patients achieve lasting results rather than short-term relief.
